San Francisco Outsidelands

As I muse over, for what felt like the perfect weekend, I can still feel the crisp, chill San Francisco breeze. I headed up to the City by the Bay for Outsidelands this past weekend. It was two days packed with great vibes, unforgettable meals, amazing vintage finds, and most importantly an array of spectacular musical performances from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Sam Smith, and the legend himself, Sir Elton John. The vibe and energy that transferred throughout Golden Gate Park was incredible! It is something about the towering pine trees mixed with unpredictable weather patterns and the exhilaration of live music that just cannot be beat! Right before entering the festival on the first day I took a stroll down Haight Street, which was made famous by the peace and love vibin’ hippies of the sixties. It was here that I found some awesome vintage pieces from Decades of Fashion. The electric aura consuming Haight was pure happiness, with awesome eateries like Parada 22 and Club Delux (a jazz bar that serves pizza…what more do you need?!). I carried the wanderlust energy of the 1960s straight into the festival entrance at Golden Gate Park fully prepared to jam the funk out to some Billy Idol. One of the most memorable part about this these past few days were the people. The people in San Francisco are unlike any other! Everyone seems to speak a mind of their own, wearing their imagination and dreams on their sleeve (literally on their sleeve!), never afraid to display their creativity, it was something to be inspired by. One of my favorite areas in the City is the Mission district. I had one the most unforgettable brunches on Mission St. called Foreign Cinema. After having one of their infamous Bloody Marys, I left wishing I could have sat on their light strung patio watching the projection of old films with my date all day! On our second day while walking into the park we came across a random group of people roller blading & skating. They meet in the same spot of Golden Gate Park everyday to roller skate their little hearts out. We had the best time watching them! And wished we had more time to explore all the different people and things going on in the park, just a bunch weirdos enjoying life the way it should be enjoyed. There was so much more that was to be loved in this blissful little city, but as for me, it is back to reality with Vegas project shows approaching. Thanks for the memories, an adventure I will never forget…until next time San Francisco. xoxo Vanessa Mooney
